MIT Games ("we", "us", "our") makes the mobile game Routeville (Android package online.mitgames.routeville). This policy explains what information the game uses, who handles it, and the choices you have. By playing the game you agree to the practices described here.
1. Summary
- You can play Routeville without an account. Your progress is then saved only on your phone.
- Signing in is optional. It adds cloud save and a place on the public ranking boards.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob, offers optional purchases through Google Play, and uses Google Firebase for analytics and crash reports.
- We do not sell personal data. We do not collect your contacts, photos, files, messages or precise location.
2. Information stored on your device
Your progress, coins, items and settings are stored on your phone. If you play without signing in, this information is never sent to us. Postcards you make in the game stay on your phone and leave it only if you share them. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data removes everything stored on the device.
3. If you sign in
You can sign in with your Google account. Your account is stored by our backend provider, Supabase, and includes:
- your email address and account ID;
- your display name, avatar, title and player level;
- a cloud copy of your progress, so you can continue on another phone. If you played as a guest first, the progress on your phone is copied to your account when you sign in;
- level results and progress for each game;
- ranked Endless runs: score, mistakes, run time, board version and a fingerprint (hash) of your inputs, used for the rankings and to check that ranked runs are fair;
- trophies, rewards and achievement unlocks, so they come back after a reinstall.
What other players see: your display name, avatar, title and scores appear on the public ranking boards. Display names pass a filter for offensive words. Your email address is never shown, and there is no chat in the game.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game shows rewarded ads (only when you choose to watch one for a reward) and occasional full-screen ads between levels. There are no ads in your first session, in the tutorials or in ranked runs. To serve, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google AdMob may collect and process:
- device identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID;
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version);
- ad interaction data (for example, which ads were shown or tapped) and diagnostic data.
Your choices: if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent through Google's consent tool before personalised ads are shown; without consent you see non-personalised ads. You can change your choice later in Settings → Privacy choices. On any Android device you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in the device settings. Buying Remove Ads turns off the ads between levels.
How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. In-app purchases (Google Play)
Optional purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your card or payment details. We receive a purchase record (the product, the time and a purchase token) so we can deliver what you bought, restore it after a reinstall, and handle refunds and fraud. If you are signed in, our server also checks Google's signature on each purchase before delivering it.
6. Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
Firebase tells us how the game is played and when it crashes, so we can fix bugs and balance levels. It receives game events (such as a level started or finished), the device model, operating system version and an app-instance ID. You can turn analytics off in Settings → Usage data. Crash reports stay on because they keep the game working. Firebase also delivers updated game settings.
The game is built with the Unity engine, which may send anonymous technical statistics about your device (such as its model, operating system and graphics chip) to Unity Technologies. They don't include your account or your game progress.
7. Problem reports and notifications
If you tap Report a problem, the report includes the app version, device model, operating system, graphics setting, a summary of your save and the inputs of your last 3 attempts (at most 200 KB), so we can reproduce the problem. Nothing is sent unless you tap the button.
Reminders are scheduled on your phone itself; no push service or device token is used. On Android 13 and later the game asks before it sends any.
8. Who handles your data
| Provider | What it does | Its policy |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, cloud saves, rankings, purchase records | supabase.com/privacy |
| Google Firebase | Analytics, crash reports, game settings | Firebase privacy |
| Google AdMob | Ads and ad consent | Google Privacy Policy |
| Unity Technologies | Anonymous device statistics from the game engine | Unity Privacy Policy |
| Google Play | Purchases and app updates | Google Privacy Policy |
We do not sell or rent personal data. Personalised ads may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some US state laws; you can opt out as described in section 4. We may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect players and the game from fraud and abuse.
9. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Providing the game you asked for: your account, cloud save, purchases, rankings and achievements.
- Consent: personalised ads. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests: analytics, crash reports, fair-play checks and security.

11. Your rights and data deletion
- Download your data: Settings → Help and support → Download my data.
- Delete your account: Settings → Account → Delete account, or on our account deletion page if you no longer have the game. Your profile, saves, results, rankings, trophies and achievements are deleted; purchase records are kept without your identity.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Email us with your support code (shown in Settings → Help and support) and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Children
Routeville is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security and international transfers
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Our server accepts changes only through checked functions, so the game cannot change other players' data. Our providers may store data outside your country; where the law requires it, these transfers use approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
14. This website
This website sets no cookies of its own and has no tracking and no ads. It is hosted by Google (Firebase Hosting) and loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages, as described in the Google Privacy Policy. The game page shows our trailer from YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; when you do, YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and browser details and may store cookies, under its privacy-enhanced mode and the same Google Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and important changes will be announced in the game.
